Situated in malaria-free surrounds, the 4 star graded Shakama is set in a reserve of pristine natural beauty and absolute tranquility. Guests can enjoy a diverse offering of activities, some just as unusual as the name Shakama.
Christened after a rare wild friut tree, Shakama Private Game Lodge & Spa lies in a pristine area of the Waterberg. This means that guests can simultaneously be deep in the bushveld, yet still have easy access to other desired amenities – such as the two world-class, 18-hole golf courses at Zebula Country Club and Elements Golf Reserve.
Ten luxurious suites are available to guests who love the great 
outdoors. Nestled under cool thatch, all suites have private game viewing decks and six of them have additional outdoor showers. Built on the slopes of a majestic ravine, suites are all tastefully appointed in earthy tones, with sweeping views over the surrounding bushveld. A self-catering camp – perched on a hill above the main lodge – sleeps an additional seven people in two, split-level, en suite cottages which share a communal kitchen and lapa.
The main lodge boasts a relaxing lounge and dining area which opens onto a wide viewing deck. There’s a well stocked bar too, to enjoy pre-dinner drinks before dining around an open log fire in the boma, or in the atmospheric dining area, where nouvelle cuisine is served.
