Shakama is a privately owned game farm in the southern range of the Waterberg. The farm covers 640 hectares of natural landscape and lies in the centre of over 10 000 hectares of bushveld ranches. The owners have embarked on a programme, based on ecological study, to breed a number of indigenous game species.
Right now there are over 22 species of game already roaming the farm including Zebra and Giraffe.
Shakama is also home to a host of bird species, which is bound to intrigue the avid bird watcher.
Game drives can also be extended (subject to prior arrangement) to visit the adjoining reserves, to view Buffalo and Hippo (amongst other exotic species).
Shakama is ideally suited for eco-tourism offering clear views of game and an endless variety of natural habitat.
